Claire Moore has extensive experience in fisheries assessment and marine biology, currently serving as Team Leader for Demersal Fisheries Assessment and Advice at the Marine Institute since May 2012. In this role, Claire oversees scientific survey programs, conducts stock assessments, and develops advice for sustainable fisheries management. Additional roles have included Demersal Stock Assessment Scientific and Technical Officer and Fisheries Biologist, focusing on stock and biological assessments. Claire's research as a PhD candidate at GMIT examines sprat fisheries ecology. Previous positions range from intertidal surveying to environmental education, with an academic background including a Master of Science in Marine Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Ecology from University College Cork. Claire's hands-on experience at sea encompasses diverse fishing and research vessels, and participation in environmental monitoring initiatives.
