Surya Karunakaran

Surya Karunakaran, Ph.D., serves as the Head of Product Management and Director of Technology Licensing at ATUM since August 2017, where responsibilities include spearheading innovation for the Leap-In Transposase Technology® platform, managing strategic partnerships, and overseeing licensing agreements with top pharmaceutical companies. Prior experience includes roles as Project Manager for the Leap-In Transposase® at ATUM, Technical Account Manager at DNA2.0, and Sr. Sales Associate at BioSurplus, along with research positions at the University of Illinois. Surya holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois, a B.Tech in Industrial Biotechnology from Anna University Chennai, and is currently pursuing the Stanford LEAD Program in Business Leadership for Innovation at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
