Tanim Islam has a strong background in finance and accounting, with experience in various leadership roles. From 2019 to present, they have been the Group Head of Financial Control and ESG at AUB Group Limited, responsible for managing financial control, corporate finance, tax teams, as well as leading the Environmental, Social, and Governance program. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2019, Tanim worked at EY, where they started as an Associate and eventually became a Manager. In this role, they focused on audit and assurance for financial services companies, conducting financial analysis and reviewing technical areas such as consolidation and valuations. Before their time at EY, Tanim worked at Grant Thornton Australia as an Intermediate Auditor, specializing in financial audits for various banking institutions. Tanim also has experience in teaching, having served as a UPass Leader and Senior Leader at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Tanim obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Tax Law from The Tax Institute, where they studied from 2021 to 2023.
Prior to that, Tanim earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, studying from 2013 to 2016.
Tanim'sundergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and Business Law, which they received from the University of Technology Sydney from 2010 to 2013.
Lastly, Tanim completed their higher secondary education at Sydney Technical High School from 2004 to 2009, obtaining a Higher School Certificate. Tanim'sfield of study at high school included Mathematics, English, Economics, Legal Studies, and Chemistry.
Apart from their formal education, Tanim also obtained the EY Analytics - Data visualization - Bronze certification from EY in November 2019.
