Roger Jones

Roger Jones is the Executive General Manager of Business Technology at Auckland Transport. Roger has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, including stints at healthAlliance, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and the Auckland Regional Transport Authority.

At healthAlliance, Roger was responsible for managing the IT budget and negotiating strategic partnerships with vendors. Roger was also successful in resolving outstanding support disputes and altering contracts to include performance and Service Level criteria.

Under Roger's leadership, the Auckland Regional Transport Authority successfully completed the Health Sector Architecture component of the WAVE Project. This was a complex project that spanned 30 different sites and involved a $1.6 billion budget.

Roger is a proven leader in the IT industry, with a track record of success in managing large projects and budgets. Roger is an expert in negotiating with vendors and has a deep understanding of the complexities of the IT infrastructure.

Roger Jones has a BSc in Computer Science from The University of Waikato, and an Advanced Management Program from INSEAD. Roger is also certified by the Institute of Directors in New Zealand and INSEAD Executive Education.

Roger Jones reports to Shane Ellison, CEO. They are on a team with Vanessa Ellis - Executive General Manager Customer Experience, Mark Lambert - Executive General Manager Integrated Networks, and Rodger Murphy - Executive General Manager, Risk & Assurance.
