About the role

The Vice President, Engineering is responsible for building and leading the company’s technology strategy as it pertains to processing and analyzing data. The role will deliver a deep understanding of current systems, analyze the needs of the business and each department, determine ideas, and solutions to present to executive management, and execute initiatives to achieve corporate objectives. This position will oversee 1 - 2 technology teams in the company and will be responsible for the produced outcome of their specific teams and manage the deadlines and road map of the organization.

What will you be doing?

Essential Position Duties: (typical monthly, weekly, daily tasks)

1. Engineering Execution
• Lead the implementation of multiple projects providing mentorship and guidance to the teams
• Plan and lead the development of new software products and enhancements
• Ensures the on-time delivery of all scheduled milestones and product requirements
• Oversees the technology Sprint team cadence and reviews
2.  Strategy Development
• Define strategies that will bring the organization to the next level in technological advancement by providing solutions that will productize as well as provide solutions to current business needs
• Work to solve the problems articulated by product management and other teams
• Leads the development of software product plans and schedules
• Evaluates technical feasibility, design optimization and production issues
• Uses the Agile methodology and restructures it to fit each team
• Coordinates with the Product department to create the technology road map
3.  Personnel Management
• Develop individual team members to further their technical, business and professional skills
• Set appropriate team and individual goals and hold all accountable toward progress against those goals
• Continues to grow and expand the team by hiring new team members 
• Ensure each manager is meeting weekly with their team members 
• Manages the performance of the team 
4.  Technical Leadership
• Oversee the design, analysis, testing, documentation and implementation of highly complex code
• Enforces technical practices of the department
• Owns the adoption of evolving engineering processes and methodologies
• Ensures the documentation process is followed to ensure knowledge is acquired
• Ensure our products meet the organization’s standards of quality and performance

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s Degree in technology related field.
• Minimum of Five (5) years of management experience;
• With at least Two (2) years at the Sr. Management Technology level.
• Minimum of Ten (10) years of experience in the technology field.
• Competent technical skills
• Project Management experience
• Development lifecycle experience
• Fluent in React, HTML, Java Script, CSS
• Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Google Suite: Mail, Sheets, Word
