Vesa Välimäki

Vesa Välimäki serves as the Editor in Chief of the Journal of the Audio Engineering Society, a role held since October 2020, while simultaneously acting as the Vice Dean for Research and Professor of Audio Signal Processing at Aalto University since 2002. In the capacity of Vice Dean, Vesa focuses on research development and international affairs within the School of Electrical Engineering. Additionally, Vesa is a board member at Heureka, the Finnish Science Centre, representing Aalto University, and previously worked as an acoustics expert at FLEXOUND The Augmented Audio Company until December 2022. Vesa has held visiting scholar status at Stanford University and has prior experience as a professor and postdoctoral fellow in signal processing and audio research at various institutions. Vesa holds a Doctor of Science in Technology and a Master of Science, both in Acoustics and Audio Signal Processing, from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan.
