K. Barton Farris

K. Barton Farris, MD is a partner with Delta Pathology Group, LLC. He is the Medical Director of the clinical laboratory at West Jefferson Medical Center, a position he has held since 1995. Dr. Farris graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA with a B.S. in biology. He graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed his residency in pathology on the Tulane service at Charity Hospital. He is on the faculty of both LSU Medical School and Tulane Medical School. He was appointed to the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners in 2013.

Dr. Farris served as president of the Louisiana State Medical Society from 2001 – 2002 and was Speaker of the House of Delegates of the society from 1995 – 2000 and 2006 – 2011. He was elected to the Council on Constitution and Bylaws of the American Medical Society in 2002 and served as chair of the Council from 2007 – 2009.

Dr. Farris received the Outstanding Achievement Award of the Jefferson Parish Medical Society in 2003 and was elected to the Hall of Fame of Medicine of the Louisiana State Medical Society in 2014.

In addition to his service to Audubon, he has been drug control crew chief for the U.S. Olympic Committee and a member of the American Institute of Parliamentarians.
