Suzanne Tatum is currently the Associate VP of External Relations at Augusta University. Suzanne has held this position since January 2016. Prior to their current role, they served as the Assistant Vice President for Protocol and Special Events at Augusta University from June 2009 to December 2015. In this role, Suzanne was responsible for the planning and execution of all special events for the university, as well as overseeing the university's protocol office.
Before their time at Augusta University, Suzanne was the Online Marketing Director at Morris Multimedia from July 2006 to June 2009. In this role, Suzanne was responsible for managing the online presence of all Morris Multimedia properties, including website development, SEO, and social media.
Suzanne began their career in 2001 as a Scheduling/News Operations/Production Assistant at CBS News. In this role, Suzanne was responsible for managing the scheduling department for all CBS News shows. Suzanne also worked closely with the Director of CBS News Studio Operations and specific production managers for all news shows. In 2003, Suzanne left CBS News to join PDI-POA as a Multimedia Sales Executive.
In 2006, Suzanne joined the Statesboro Herald as a Multimedia Sales Executive. In this role, Suzanne was responsible for increasing multimedia sales revenue for the newspaper through cross-platform sales initiatives. Suzanne left the Statesboro Herald in 2007 to join Georgia Southern University as the Assistant Vice President for External Affairs and Chief Protocol Officer.
Suzanne has a passion for event planning and has been instrumental in planning and executing a variety of special events at Augusta University, including commencement ceremonies, convocations, and donor events. Suzanne is also an active member of the Augusta community, serving on the boards of several local organizations.
Suzanne Tatum has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder and is currently working on their Masters in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Georgia Southern University. Suzanne also has certification from The Protocol School of Washington as a Certified Protocol Officer.
