Jess Bateman has a significant amount of experience in advocacy and strategic alliances within the pharmaceutical industry. Jess currently holds the role of Senior Director of Advocacy & Strategic Alliances at Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc. since July 2022. Before that, they served as the Director of Advocacy at the same company from October 2020 to July 2022. Prior to their time at Aurinia Pharmaceuticals, they worked at the American Urological Association as a Senior Manager of Patient and Research Advocacy from June 2016 to October 2020. From March 2015 to June 2016, they held the position of Director of Public Policy at the Immune Deficiency Foundation. Prior to that, they served as the President and CEO of the Lupus Foundation of America DC/MD/VA Chapter from January 2013 to March 2015 and as the Director of Patient Services from March 2008 to January 2013.

Jess Bateman obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Community Health and Preventive Medicine from Towson University in 2005. In addition, Jess has obtained certifications as a Certified Holistic Nutritionist from AFPA American Fitness Professionals & Associates in July 2019, and as a Certified Health and Wellness Coach from the same institution in March 2019.
