Nysha Blender, OD, PhD

Nysha Blender, OD, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of optometry and medical affairs. Nysha currently holds the position of Senior Medical Director at Aurion Biotech, a role they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, they served as Director of Field Medical Affairs at Ocular Therapeutix, Inc. from December 2021 to April 2023. Nysha also held the positions of Medical Director (July 2020 to December 2021) and Medical Science Liaison (August 2019 to July 2020) at the same company.

Before joining Ocular Therapeutix, Inc., Blender worked as a Managing Optometrist at LasikPlus (LCA-Vision Inc.) from November 2016 to June 2019. Nysha gained experience as an Associate Optometrist at Zionsville Eyecare from January 2016 to April 2017. Prior to that, they held the same position at My Vision Calgary from October 2014 to September 2015 and at McIvor Family Eyecare from January 2012 to June 2014. Blender also worked as an Optometrist at LASIK MD from September 2011 to June 2014.

Nysha Blender, OD, PhD, attended McGill University from 1999 to 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Marketing and Strategic Management. Nysha then pursued their Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, completing their studies from 2006 to 2010. Following this, they engaged in a residency program in Cornea and CL at the State University of New York College of Optometry from 2010 to 2011. In 2020, Nysha enrolled in Salus University to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedicine, which they are expected to complete in 2023.
