Alana Belcher

Alana Belcher's work experience includes a current role as the Principal Safety Strategy, Human Factors and Analytics at Aurizon, where they are responsible for developing the enterprise safety strategy and leading human and organizational performance initiatives. Alana also leads the Human Factors team and supports growth opportunities through the management of human risk. Prior to Aurizon, Alana worked as a Senior Advisor, Human Factors and Performance at Virgin Australia, where they led the review of the Enterprise Fatigue Management Framework and implemented a FRMS. Alana also worked as a Flight Safety Officer, conducting safety investigations and providing human factors support and advice. Additionally, Alana has experience as a Captain, First Officer, and line pilot at Skytrans Airlines and WEST WING AVIATION PTY LTD. Alana has also worked as a Line Pilot at Slingair Heliwork WA and as a Flight Instructor at Massey University.

Alana Belcher completed their Master of Aviation in Human Factors at Swinburne University of Technology from 2014 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Aviation in Air Transport Pilot from Massey University between 1999 and 2001. Alana also holds an Airline Transport Pilot certification from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority.
