Roland Cunha Montenegro is an Associate at Aurora Energy Research since July 2021, following a Ph.D. candidacy in Energy Economics at the Institute for Energy Economics and Rational Use of Energy at the University of Stuttgart, where research focused on the distributional impacts of energy-economic policies in the European Union. Previous experience includes roles as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Brandenburgische Technische Universität Cottbus-Senftenberg, where tasks involved data research and model development for the natural gas market; as a group leader in the PET – Metrologia e Automação program; and a summer internship at GE Transportation focused on material management efficiency. Roland also completed an undergraduate exchange at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University and held an internship at the Power Plant Institute, analyzing combustion parameters and flow dynamics. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Power Engineering from Brandenburgische Technische Universität and an Engineer's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.
