Katie Pelkey

Katie Pelkey has a diverse range of work experience in the performing arts and education sectors. Katie began their career in 2005 as an Assistant Teaching Artist at Second Stage Theatre and went on to work as a Teaching Artist and Stage Manager for youngARTS/New York. In 2008, they had a teaching placement at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Performing Arts, where they taught acting techniques to students. Additionally, they worked as a Marketing and Public Relations specialist for joes & co and as a Sales Associate at Gap Inc.

Pelkey also gained experience at New York University, where they served as a Student Assistant and Production Stage Manager. Katie provided support to faculty and participated in theater initiatives with middle and high school students. During this time, they also worked as a Personal Assistant for Nancy Swortzell.

In 2008, Pelkey was a Teaching Artist at Let's Pretend Inc., where they directed a production of James and the Giant Peach for K-5 students. Katie later joined the Aurora Theatre, starting as an Educational Resources Associate and then progressing to roles such as Resident Stage Manager, Company Manager, General Manager, and most recently, Managing Director.

Throughout their various roles, Pelkey has demonstrated their skills in providing practical and organizational support, managing staff, and coordinating productions.

Katie Pelkey obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Educational Theatre from New York University from 2004 to 2008.
