Karen Berthiaume

Karen Berthiaume started their work experience in 1995 at Lake Forest College as an Alumni Programs Officer and later became an Admissions Officer. In 1998, they worked as an Admissions Counselor at Drake University. From 1999 to 2000, they worked as a Higher Education Consultant at PwC. Karen joined Northwestern University in 2000 as a Senior Associate Director, overseeing reunion giving campaigns and securing a $1.0 million gift. Karen then worked at the University of Illinois at Chicago as the Director of Advancement for the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs and the Director of Development for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. During their time, they successfully led fundraising efforts, soliciting donors for research funds and exceeding fundraising goals. In 2012, Karen became the Director of Gift Planning and the 1857 Society at Lake Forest College. In 2014, they joined the George Williams College of Aurora University as the Director of Development. Currently, Karen is working at AbbVie as an Account Manager in the Central Consultancy Group, where they partner with business owners for their consultancy needs.

Karen Berthiaume attended Rich East High School from 1987 to 1991 and obtained a diploma. Karen then went on to Drake University from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Drake University during the same period. There is no information available regarding their education beyond 1995, although it is known that they did not pursue a degree at Lake Forest College.
