Performance Manager (endurance) at AusCycling

David Hayes is a highly experienced performance health professional with a career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as a Performance Health Solutionist at AusCycling since January 2020, David has also held significant roles such as Athlete Health Lead at Cycling Australia since 2005 and Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist at the Australian Institute of Sport from 2006 to July 2018. Previous positions include Consultant Sports Physiotherapist at Royal Australian Airforce Base - Amberley, Physiotherapist roles at Axis Physiotherapy, Fannie Bay Physiotherapy, and Body Right Physiotherapy. David holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia, a Master's in Sports Physiotherapy from The University of Queensland, and a Graduate Certificate in Sports Performance Health Management from the University of Canberra. Ongoing education includes a course in the Management of Sport Trauma from the Australian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians.

AusCycling represents 60,000 members across BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle, Cyclo-cross, Cycling Esports, Mountain Bike, Para-cycling, Road, Track and Lifestyle (recreational and commuter) riding throughout Australia. We formed on 1 November 2020 from a merger of Cycling Australia, Mountain Bike Australia, BMX Australia and a host of state organisations.
