Richard Doran is a Shareholder at Ausley McMullen since February 2003, focusing on state government regulation and civil litigation, particularly in consumer protection matters. Doran served as a Commissioner and Past Chair of the Florida First District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission from July 2016 to June 2022, originally appointed by Governor Scott and reappointed by Governor DeSantis. As a Founding Member and Chairman of the Executive Board for the Project On Accountable Justice from April 2012 to January 2020, Doran advanced public safety through evidence-based practices. Prior roles include serving as the Attorney General of Florida and Chief Deputy Attorney General, overseeing significant legal operations and policy matters within the state. Doran also held the position of General Counsel for the Florida Department of HRS/Children and Families during a pivotal restructuring of the agency. Doran obtained a JD from Stetson University College of Law and a BA in English from Bethany College.
