Dr. Mary Thomas

Dr. Mary Thomas is the Executive Director of State, Federal & Private Compliance & Accountability at Austin Independent School District. Dr. has held this position since December 2011. Prior to that, they were the Area Chair/Lead Faculty John Sperlings School of Business at University of Phoenix from January 2009 to December 2011. From January 2006 to December 2008, they were the Southwest Regional Director at NABSE. Dr. was also the COO at Greater Calvary Rites of Passage, Inc. from January 2005 to December 2013. Dr. Thomas started their career as a teacher at Fulmore Middle School in August 1979 and continued teaching at Commerce ISD from January 1975 to December 1979.

Dr. Mary Thomas received their Ed.D. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. Dr. also holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Education from East Texas State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from East Texas State University. Dr. Thomas is certified by the Texas Education Agency in Administrative Supervison.

Dr. Mary Thomas reports to Eduardo Ramos, Chief Financial Officer. Dr. Mary Thomas works with Beverly Freshour - Chief of Police, Annie Collier - Executive Director of Contracts & Procurement, and Dinita Caldwell - Director of Dr.'storically Underutilized Business.
