Karen Meisch serves as a Professor of Biology and Dean of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at Austin Peay State University, a position held since August 2007. As Dean, Karen Meisch oversees one of the university's premier academic colleges, which caters to 2,500 STEM majors out of a total student population of 10,000. In addition to administrative duties, Karen Meisch has taught upper-level courses in genetics, advanced topics in genetics, and developmental biology, as well as introductory biology courses. Karen Meisch earned a PhD in Biological Sciences from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ashland University.
