Rex Gandy

Rex Gandy has been in the field of institutional research for over 20 years. Rex has held various positions at different universities, including the University of Louisville, the University of West Georgia, and the University of North Alabama. In July 2018, they became the Provost & VP for Academic Affairs at Austin Peay State University.

Gandy began their career in 1985 as the Assistant Director, Research and Public Relations, Housing and Residential Resources at The University of Alabama. Rex stayed in this position for 11 years before becoming the Research Analyst III, Institutional Research at the University of Louisville in 1997. From there, they became the Director, Institutional Research and Planning at the University of West Georgia in 1999. Rex held this position for 8 years before becoming the Director, Institutional Research, Planning, and Assessment at the University of North Alabama in 2007. Gandy held this position for 10 years before taking on their current role as the Provost & VP for Academic Affairs at Austin Peay State University in 2018.

Rex Gandy's educational career includes earning a Ph.D in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from The University of Alabama, as well as a Master's degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration and Journalism from the same school. Rex also holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from The University of Alabama.
