Kurt Hackemer

Kurt Hackemer serves as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at The University of South Dakota, a position held since August 1996. With a distinguished career in academia, Kurt Hackemer has also held various roles including Professor of History, Interim Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences, Associate Provost, and Interim Chief Diversity Officer. Prior to their tenure at The University of South Dakota, Kurt Hackemer was a lecturer at Texas A&M University from September 1993 to May 1996. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Military History from Texas A&M University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in History from the University of Chicago.
