Courtney Chavez

Courtney Chavez, JD, ENV-SP, serves as the Senior Vice President of Equity & Community Partnership at Austin Transit Partnership, focusing on community engagement strategies for the Austin Light Rail project while developing workforce and business assistance programs. Previously, Courtney held the position of Director of Equity and Inclusion at the Texas Department of Transportation, overseeing civil rights initiatives and launching job opportunities for justice-involved youth. Additional experience includes serving as Associate Director for the Office for Inclusion and Equity at The University of Texas at Austin, where training to reduce bias in recruitment was a key responsibility, and as Deputy Director of the Center for Women in Law at Texas Law, focusing on enhancing retention rates of women lawyers. Earlier roles include senior and associate positions at prominent law firms, along with a solid educational foundation in public policy analysis and a Doctor of Law from The University of Texas School of Law.
