David Pegley

David Pegley has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. David has held various executive and leadership roles in different companies and industries.

Starting in 1981, Pegley worked as an Operations Manager for Collie Cooke Consolidated for six years. David then moved on to Fuji International Finance, where they served as a Senior Corporate Finance Officer for a year.

In 1988, Pegley joined Citi and held different positions, including Corporate Finance Manager, Chief of Staff in Corporate Finance, Product Manager for Unit Trusts, and Product Manager for Insurance & Investments.

In 1995, they joined Citibank as the Business Head of Consumer Bank New Zealand, where they successfully established a profitable consumer bank within a year. David later managed the sale of the New Zealand business, ensuring a smooth transition for the staff.

From 1999 to 2000, Pegley worked at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where they held two roles: Head of Distribution for Colonial and Senior Executive & GM, Implementation, Third Party Banking & Adviser Services. In these roles, they focused on integrating acquired companies and managing third-party distribution networks.

From 2002 to 2016, Pegley worked at Cash Services Australia, starting as the Chief Executive Officer. During their tenure, they led the company through significant periods of growth and change, establishing it as a world leader in cash services for the financial services industry.

Finally, in 2016, Pegley became the Managing Director of the Australian Financial Crimes Exchange (AFCX), a non-profit organization that fights against financial and cyber-crime. David was responsible for the design, build, and deployment phase of the organization and led a team to build its capability. AFCX has become the primary channel in Australia for sharing actionable intelligence in the fight against financial and cyber-crime.

Overall, throughout their career, Pegley has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic vision, and the ability to drive growth and innovation in various industries and organizations.

David Pegley earned a Masters of Business Administration (Finance Major) from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) from 1984 to 1987. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours, Chemistry Major) from the University of Canterbury between 1977 and 1980. Additionally, they hold the title of Fellow AICD from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is also recognized as a Justice of the Peace through Justice of the Peace Services.
