Adam Bishop has a diverse work experience in the sports and non-profit sectors. Adam has held various roles at different organizations throughout their career. Starting in 2006, they worked as the Logistics Coordinator for the 2007 World Police and Fire Games, where they managed inventory control and equipment distribution. In 2008, they became the Sports Administrator at St Josephs School. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as the Student Services Coordinator at The Institute for Study Abroad, Butler University, managing their South Australian operations. In 2010, they freelanced as a Features Writer for Run for Your Life Magazine. In 2008, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Athletics South Australia and oversaw the food and beverage operation at SA Athletics Stadium. During their tenure, they drove growth and positive change in South Australian athletics. In 2016, they became a Non-Executive Director at Community Living Options Inc., where they played a key role in governance reform and organizational growth. In 2017, they joined Athletics Australia as the General Manager of Growth and Development and later became the Acting Chief Executive Officer. Adam also served as the General Manager of Participation and Community Strategy before becoming the Interim High Performance Director. In 2020, they became a Mentor at Startupbootcamp, specializing in sports and events tech. Adam also served as a Legacy Committee Member for the World Athletics Cross Country Championships Bathurst 2021. Currently, they are part of the Coaching Advisory Group for the National Women and Girls Game Development Action Plan at the AFL - Australian Football League.

Adam Bishop has a diverse education history. In 2001, they attended Flinders University and earned a Bachelor of Education degree in Physical Education and English in 2004. In 2005, they briefly attended Belmont University and obtained a Masters degree in Sports Administration. In 2010, they attended the Australian Institute of Management and became a Certified Professional Manager. Furthering their professional development, in 2013, they completed the Sports Governance Program at the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Additionally, in 2015, they participated in the 2015 Governor's Leadership Foundation program at the Leaders Institute of South Australia, focusing on Leadership. Adam Bishop's educational journey also includes a recent certification as a Certified Mentor from Mentorloop, which was obtained in October 2022.
