Damien Mitchelmore has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Damien started their career in 2005 as a Coach for Australian Rowing, specifically focusing on the Junior Men's Coxless Four. In 2006, they became the Head Coach of Rowing at St Joseph's College, Hunters Hill. Damien then joined St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace in 2009 as the Director of Rowing and later served as the Director of Athletic Development from 2013 to 2014. In 2005, Damien also worked as a Scholarship Rowing Coach at the Australian Institute of Sport.

In 2007, Damien transitioned to Rugby Australia, where they served as a Referee, TMO, and Referee Coach for Super Rugby and International fixtures. Damien also played a crucial role as a coach and mentor for junior referees and national level match officials. During this time, they focused on team building and stakeholder management.

In 2015, Damien took on the role of the Junior Referee Development Coordinator and Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Queensland Rugby Referees Association. From 2016 to 2017, Damien served as the Academy Director for Rugbytek Academy. Damien then joined the AFL - Australian Football League in 2018 in various roles, including Community Umpire Development Manager, Program Manager for Schools and AFL9s, and Schools and Growth Manager. Damien'sresponsibilities included strategic planning, recruitment, retention, and culture policy implementation for community umpiring and managing school programs and competitions.

In 2020, Damien became the Participation and Programs Manager - Schools and Diversity for the AFL, focusing on creating transformational opportunities for participants through community engagement and diversity programs. Damien currently holds the position of Venue & Government Partnerships Manager - QLD, responsible for managing AFL game day processes at Queensland venues, including stakeholder management, time management, venue inspections, and providing advice to the AFL.

Damien Mitchelmore completed their education history with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Movement Studies from the University of Technology Sydney, which they earned from 1998 to 2002. Damien then pursued a Masters of Applied Science in Sports Coaching at The University of Queensland, completing it from 2006 to 2011. From 2013 to 2014, Damien obtained a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning from the University of Southern Queensland. Finally, they earned a Certificate IV in Teaching and Assessing from Careers Australia Alumni, completing it in 2017.
