Game Development Officer at Australian Football League

Jess Gawthorne has a diverse work experience history. Jess started their career at Dubbo College as a School Learning Support Officer in February 2017 and worked there until January 2018. Jess then worked as a Coach at Rose Football Academy from March 2018 to December 2018. In November 2018, they joined the Cotton On Group as a Christmas Casual Team Member and continued until May 2020.

In August 2019, Jess became a Strength and Conditioning/Sport Science Intern at the Newcastle Jets Football Club, a role which lasted until May 2020. Simultaneously, starting in January 2019, they worked as a Residential Mentor at the University of Newcastle until December 2019.

Continuing their career progression, from May 2020 to November 2021, Jess worked as an Administration Officer in the Emergency Department at the Western NSW Local Health District. Following this, from October 2021 to January 2022, they were a Technical Chiropractic Assistant at the Dubbo Chiropractic Health and Wellness Centre.

In February 2022, Jess transitioned to the Australian Government Department of Health as a Departmental Officer until December 2022. In January 2023, they joined the AFL (Australian Football League) as a Game Development Officer.

At present, Jess is currently employed at Active - On The Move Rehabilitation as an Accredited Exercise Scientist since March 2023.

Jess Gawthorne attended Dubbo College from 2011 to 2016, but the degree and field of study are unknown. In 2018, Jess began studying at the University of Newcastle and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science in 2020. Additionally, Jess acquired several certifications, including Accredited Exercise Scientist from Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) in January 2021, HLTAID001 CPR from the Australian Red Cross in January 2020, Introduction to Kinesio Taping from EB Physiotherapy in 2018, Introduction to Taping for Sports from Aspire Physiotherapy in 2018, HLTAID003 Provide First Aid from the Australian Red Cross in December 2017, Working With Children Check from the NSW Government in November 2016, Responsible Conduct of Gambling from Liquor and Gaming NSW in July 2017, Responsible Service of Alcohol from Liquor and Gaming NSW in July 2017, and Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach from the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) in January 2020.
