Steve Mahar

Steve Mahar currently serves as the Community Football Regional Manager for the Australian Football League (AFL) in the ACT and Regional NSW, a position held since December 2020. Previously, Steve was the Government and Venue Manager at YMCA Canberra from February 2020 to December 2020, and prior to that, spent nearly a decade at AFL as the General Manager for ACT/South Coast, where strategic leadership and commercial management were key responsibilities. Steve has also contributed as a Talent Manager, focusing on enhancing the development and opportunities for talented players in NSW and the ACT in collaboration with the GWS GIANTS Academy. Steve holds a Bachelor of Education in Primary Teaching from the Australian Catholic University, earned between 1998 and 2001.
