Fish Research Technician at Australian Institute of Marine Science

Aimee Brown is a Fish Research Technician and Research Worker at the Australian Institute of Marine Science since October 2022, where responsibilities include assisting in the preparation of the 2022 Scientific Consensus Statement on water quality in the Great Barrier Reef through literature searches and data extractions. Additionally, Aimee has worked as a Research Worker at TropWATER from March 2023 to December 2023, contributing to the same Consensus Statement. As a Team Leader at Reef Check Australia from April 2022 to December 2023, Aimee organized reef health surveys, underwater clean-ups, and community engagement events across the GBR, while also coordinating volunteers. Previous experience includes serving as a Tour Guide at Busselton Jetty (September 2016 - January 2019) and as a Research Survey Officer at the Department of Fisheries Western Australia (January 2016 - June 2018). Aimee holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Marine Biology from James Cook University and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Conservation Biology and Environmental Management from Edith Cowan University.
