Emma Kennedy is an accomplished research scientist specializing in coral reef ecology, currently employed at the Australian Institute of Marine Science since January 2021. Formerly a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Queensland, Emma contributed to coral reef mapping using advanced remote sensing techniques. Previous roles include leading the Coral Triangle Seaview Survey at the Global Change Institute and coordinating research initiatives within the 50 Reefs Initiative for global coral conservation. Emma has extensive teaching experience, including coordinating undergraduate courses and supervising research projects. Emma holds a PhD in Caribbean Coral Reef Ecology from the University of Exeter, an MSc with distinction in Marine Resource Development and Protection from Heriot-Watt University, and a First Class Honours degree in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh. Emma is also actively involved in wildlife conservation volunteering.
