Kevin McEvoy has extensive work experience in various leadership positions. Kevin is currently the Director of the Response Centre at the Australian Maritime Safety Authority. Prior to that, they served as the Deputy Commander for Operational Strategy and Planning at the Department of Health & Human Services in Victoria.
Kevin has also held positions at the Ministry for Primary Industries, where they served as the Director of Digital Monitoring. In this role, they led a technology change program for the reform of the commercial fishing industry and provided strategic advice to the Minister. Kevin also led cultural integration efforts within the organization.

Prior to that, they worked at the Headquarters of the New Zealand Defence Force, leading aircraft modification projects and managing project outputs.
Earlier in their career, Kevin served in the NZ Defence Force's Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies and held the role of Head of Personnel in the Air Force, where they were responsible for HR functions and implemented workforce planning initiatives.

Kevin McEvoy has a diverse education history. In 2004, they attended the Air War College in the USA, where they obtained a Master of Strategic Studies. Following this, in 2008, Kevin pursued further studies at Massey University, earning a Master of Philosophy. In 2011, they attended the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies, obtaining a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies with a focus on International Relations and National Security Studies. In addition to their academic achievements, Kevin McEvoy has also obtained certifications, including being a Gateway Reviewer through The Treasury - New Zealand since an unspecified time and becoming a Member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand in 2018.
