Joseph Bevitt is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in neutron imaging and residual stress analysis at ANSTO since November 2009. As Instrument Group Manager and Senior Instrument Scientist, Joseph plays a pivotal role in pioneering neutron microCT applications in palaeontology, archaeology, and cultural heritage, collaborating with museums and universities globally. Joseph has also managed the Research Office, overseeing user programs for various landmark facilities, and served as Head of the Bragg Institute User Office, facilitating access to neutron beam instruments. Joseph held positions as Guest Research Fellow at Jilin University, Deputy President of the International Society for Neutron Radiology, and President of the NSW Branch of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. Previously, Joseph contributed to the University of Sydney as Executive Officer for research initiatives and as Head of Chemistry at MatrixEducation, alongside earning a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Sydney, where pioneering research on nanoporous materials was conducted.
