Tarun Weeramanthri AM is a highly experienced public health professional currently serving as a Member of the Governing Council for the World Federation of Public Health Associations and a Board Member for the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. Additionally, Tarun holds several leadership roles including Deputy Chair at PathWest Laboratory Medicine WA, Chair of the Health Promotion Research Assessment Committee at Healthway, and Chair of the Advisory Board for the School of Population and Global Health at The University of Western Australia. With a strong commitment to humanitarian efforts, Tarun represents the medical sector on the International Humanitarian Law Advisory Committee for the Australian Red Cross. Furthermore, Tarun has contributed as a consultant through Tarun Weeramanthri Consulting and was the President of the Public Health Association of Australia, successfully guiding the organization during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tarun's educational background includes dual PhDs in Social Medicine from the Menzies School of Health Research and the University of Sydney, alongside qualifications in Tropical Medicine and an MBBS in Medicine.
