Darcy Oates

Sailing Instructor at Australian Sailing

Darcy Oates is an engaged undergraduate representative of the College of Asia and the Pacific at the ANU Students' Association since October 2024. As a sailing instructor with Australian Sailing since April 2022, Darcy holds a Dinghy & Tackers Endorsement. Participation in the Australian Crisis Simulation Summit as a delegate in September 2024 involved collaborating on crisis management strategies. During the 28th Queensland Youth Parliament from May to October 2023, Darcy represented Barron River, consulting with community stakeholders and contributing to youth-related legislation. Earlier experiences include selection as a participant in the National Youth Science Forum in January 2023 and as a delegate for UN Youth Queensland at the National Conference in June 2022. Darcy was also involved in the UN Youth Emerging Leaders Program in January 2022, focusing on international relations in Asia. Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Economics and a Bachelor of International Security Studies at The Australian National University, education began at St Augustine’s College Cairns, concluding in November 2023.
