Olivia Nelson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in executive and strategic roles, currently serving as Assistant Director for both Executive and Strategy and Events and Communications at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute since February 2020. Previously, Olivia held various positions at the Department of Premier and Cabinet (NSW) as an Assistant Analyst and at Chatham House, where roles included Programme Administrator and Consultant. Olivia also gained valuable experience as an Administrative Assistant at Montpellier Resourcing and an intern at Human Rights Watch. Olivia holds a Bachelor of International Studies in International Relations and Affairs and a Master’s Degree in Human Rights Law & Policy, both from UNSW.

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) is an independent, non-partisan policy institute based in Canberra. It was set up by the government to provide fresh ideas on Australia's defence and strategic policy choices. ASPI is charged with the task of informing the public on strategic and defence issues, generating new ideas for government, and fostering strategic expertise in Australia.
