Tom Yates Gaicd

Tom Yates has accumulated extensive experience in international trade and investment throughout their career. Starting at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) in 2001, they held various roles including Trade Commissioner and Senior Trade Commissioner in regions like Southeast Asia and North Africa. Tom'sexpertise led to positions such as Director for Japan & Korea and Director of Strategic Targeting and Investment in Asia. Tom also served as an Acting Counsellor and Trade Commissioner, showcasing their versatile skills. Tom'scontributions include managing major projects, formulating influential reports, and fostering key partnerships with prominent businesses and government entities.

Tom Yates PSM GAICD completed an Australian Institute of Company Directors course in Company Director's Course in 2023. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government with a focus on Japanese at The Australian National University from 1976 to 1979. Tom also studied Japanese Law, Accounting & Computer Science at Aoyama Gakuin University in 1980 and participated in an exchange program at Yamate High School in 1972. Tom'searlier education includes attending Brighton Grammar School from 1969 to 1974.
