Paul Mahon PMP has extensive work experience spanning several different companies. Paul began their career as a lab assistant/experimental chemist for ICI/Zeneca in 1978, where they worked on the synthesis of a variety of dyes and colorants. During this time, they also attended night school and obtained a higher second-class honors degree in applied chemistry.
Mahon then joined BASF in 1996 as a research scientist, focusing on reactive dye liquids. Paul introduced new liquid formulations and handled quality control for existing liquids.
In 1998, Mahon moved to Avecia as a research chemist, where they worked until 2005. After that, they joined Merck Group as a senior chemist after the acquisition of Avecia's printed electronics business. Merck later consolidated their plastic electronics business and closed the Manchester facility in 2006.
From 2006 to 2014, Mahon worked at Authentix as a senior scientist. Paul managed a team focused on productization and was responsible for assessing compounds for efficacy and stability, formulating and scaling up products, and overseeing laboratory operations and budgets.
In 2014, Mahon briefly worked as an associate partner at iFormulate Ltd before returning to Authentix in 2015 as a program operations manager. Paul was later promoted to director of program operations management in November 2018, where they continue to excel in their role.
Paul Mahon PMP holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Applied Chemistry from The Manchester Metropolitan University. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Coaching and Developing Employees, Mindful Approaches to Defeat Distraction and Build Greater Mental Resilience, Excel Quick Tips, Power BI: Dashboards for Beginners, and Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
