John Lee has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as a Research Associate at Schlesinger Research Lab VUMC from May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Kaverina Research Lab VUMC starting from August 2021. In addition to their research experience, John has held various leadership positions. John was the President of the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) from May 2022, and before that, they served as the Treasurer from August 2021 to May 2022. John also held positions at Autism Tennessee, where they were the President from July 2022 and the Events and Fundraising Chair from August 2021. Furthermore, they served as the President of Big Dore Little Dore since July 2022 and was a Student Leadership Committee Board Member at the Health Professions Advisory Office starting from July 2022. John's work experience also includes being a Student Observer and Team Leader at Global Medical Missions Alliance (GMMA) in May 2022.

John Lee completed their high school education at Vanderbilt University from 2020 to 2024, where they obtained a High School Diploma in Neuroscience. Prior to attending Vanderbilt, they attended Ridge High School from 2016 to 2020. In addition to their formal education, John also obtained a certification in RCR for Bio/Physical Sciences from the CITI Program in April 2022.
