David Whitley

David Whitley is currently a Board Member at the Autonomy Institute. Prior to that, they served as the Secretary of State for Texas from December 2018 to May 2019. David also served as Special Advisor to Governor Greg Abbott from May 2019 to November 2019, and as Deputy Chief of Staff from December 2014 to December 2018. From January 2012 to November 2014, they were the Assistant Deputy Attorney General at the Texas Attorney General's office. Prior to that, they were a Policy Analyst for Senator Troy Fraser at the Texas Senate from January 2011 to July 2011. David has also worked at Gregory Strategies LLC and U.S. Bankruptcy Court, W.D. Texas as a Judicial Intern from May 2010 to July 2010.

David Whitley attended The University of Texas School of Law, where they earned their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree in law. David also holds a BBA from the Texas McCombs School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from The University of Texas at Austin.
