Rodrigo Negrete

Rodrigo E. Negrete Montes is an experienced environmental legislation advisor with over twenty-three years of professional experience, including eighteen years dedicated to the formulation and development of environmental public policies. Currently serving as the Director of Autoridad Nacional de Licencias Ambientales since September 2022, Rodrigo has held various influential roles as a consultant, including advisor to communities and legal environmental consultant positions with organizations such as GIZ and the Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism of the IDB. Rodrigo's extensive expertise encompasses environmental licenses, assessments, land use planning, protected areas, and environmental sanctions, having provided legal counsel for numerous institutions, including the United Nations Development Programme, the Ministry of Environment, and the Alexander von Humboldt Biological Research Institute. Prior roles also include legal advisor for environmental policies and regulations at the Ministry of Environment and an examining lawyer at the Public Instruments Registry.
