In earlier roles, Klavs held the position of Director in the Network Storage Division at Sun Microsystems from May 1999 to December 2001 and was Director of Systems Engineering at Data General - CLARiiON from 1994 to 1999. Klavs began a career in engineering with positions at Datapoint and Regnecentralen from 1970 to 1987. Education was completed at Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen from 1964 to 1969.
