Ava Community Energy
Michael Quiroz is currently working as a Regulatory Analyst II at Ava Community Energy. Previously, Michael worked as an Energy, Sustainability, and Infrastructure Consultant at Guidehouse, an Environmental Economics Researcher at UC Berkeley, and an Energy Analyst Intern at Ascend Analytics. Michael also has experience as a Project Manager at BEACN, an Associate Consultant, and an Energy Technology and Policy Research Associate. With a background in B.S. Environmental Economics and Policy, Michael has a strong foundation in energy analysis, policy research, and environmental economics.
Ava Community Energy
Ava Community Energy (Ava), formerly East Bay Community Energy (EBCE), is the local, not-for-profit electricity supplier powering Alameda County and the City of Tracy (electricity service to the Cities of Stockton and Lathrop will begin in 2025). Ava provides clean, green energy at low rates to our 640,000 customers. We reinvest earnings back into the community to create local green energy jobs, local programs, and clean power projects. Ava member cities include Albany, Berkeley, Dublin, Emeryville, Fremont, Hayward, Livermore, Newark, Oakland, Piedmont, Pleasanton, San Leandro, Stockton, Tracy, and Union City. The unincorporated areas of Alameda County (including Ashland, Castro Valley, Cherryland, Fairview, San Lorenzo, and Sunol) are also served by Ava.
