Bedir Tapkan

M Bedir Tapkan is a Machine Learning Engineer and Researcher at Fathom, where expertise in AI/ML technology is applied for high-quality qualitative analysis since January 2023. Previously, at the University of Alberta, M Bedir Tapkan served as a Graduate Research Assistant focusing on training strong players for the board game Dark Hex using regret-based methods and Reinforcement Learning, while also teaching courses in Algorithms, Games and Puzzles, Discrete Math, and Search, Knowledge and Simulation as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Earlier experience includes developing an image recognition system for vote counting at Rice University, improving a web-based system at Momentum Learning Inc., and conducting research in machine learning techniques at the University of Houston. M Bedir Tapkan holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Alberta, obtained in July 2022.
