Kathy Zwickert

Kathy Zwickert is currently the Director at Avalara. Prior to this, they spent four years at NetSuite as the Chief People Officer. Kathy was responsible for leading a global team of over 150 Human Resources and Talent Management employees during NetSuite's hyper-growth.

Under Kathy's guidance, NetSuite's Human Resources department was transformed through technological innovation. In just three years, the global employee population grew from 2000 to over 5000 employees - exceeding NetSuite's goal of 30% net-new hires per year. Kathy reshaped the company’s global HR programs and operations to more rapidly hire, onboard, enable, and retain top talent. This led to industry-leading employee retention rates and engagement levels.

Globally, Kathy fostered strong employee engagement and culture through the implementation of reward and recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and new-hire onboarding. Kathy also revamped international employee and executive stock programs by implementing employee stock purchase plans (ESPP) and global employee retention equity programs. In addition, Kathy developed a comprehensive succession planning process and regularly presented recommendations for executive compensation related issues, risks, and initiatives to NetSuite’s Compensation Committee and Board of Directors.

One of Kathy's most notable initiatives was the creation of the “Women in NetSuite” leadership program (WIN) to support NetSuite’s female workforce in navigating meaningful careers and obtaining leadership roles.

Kathy Zwickert has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and has also completed the NextGen Corporate Directors Training Program from the University of San Francisco. Kathy is also a Certified Public Accountant from the Cailfornia State Board of Accountancy.
