Matt Buckley

Matt Buckley has over 25 years of experience in engineering and technology leadership, currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at Avalara since July 2019, following a progression from Senior Director of Software Engineering. Prior to Avalara, Matt held several key positions at Thomson Reuters from 2008 to June 2019, including Senior Director, Technology, and Director, Technology. Matt's career also includes roles as Engineering Manager and Project Lead at Beach Solutions (2001-2008), as well as Design Engineer positions at Mitel Semiconductors (1998-2001) and Thomson Marconi Sonar (1997-1998). Matt earned a 2ii degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering from the University of Bath between 1994 and 1997.
