Sona B Akmakjian

Sona B Akmakjian, CPA, currently serves as the Global Head of Strategic Accounting Partnerships at Avalara, a position held since June 2020. Prior experience includes Senior Director of Strategic Business Development and Alliances at DMA - DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, Inc., where Sona introduced alliances that significantly increased partner numbers and revenue. Sona has also held leadership roles at Taxware LLC, overseeing client services, and at ADP, focusing on partner implementation and training initiatives. Previous experience includes significant contributions at Deloitte & Touche LLP as a Senior Manager specializing in transactional tax automation and as a Sales and Use Tax Auditor with the California State Board of Equalization. Sona earned a BS in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from USC Marshall School of Business.
