Chris Theriaque

Chris Theriaque, PHR, CCMP, MHRM, currently serves as the Sr. Director of Human Resources at AvalonBay Communities since May 2025. Prior to this role, Chris held the position of Director, Human Resource Business Partner at Amtrak from 2024 to May 2025, providing strategic HR guidance to align HR strategies with business objectives. Chris has extensive experience in HR, including roles as Sr. Manager of Human Resource Business Partner at WGL and Lead Human Resource Business Partner, where innovative HR solutions were developed to enhance organizational performance. Previous positions include People Business Partner at Sage, Sr. Human Resource Generalist at Michael Baker International, Human Resource Generalist roles at MPR Associates, Living Resources Home Care Agency, and GE, with early experience as an HR Clerk at O'Brien & Gere.
