Matt Birenbaum is the Chief Investment Officer and EVP - Corporate Strategy at AvalonBay Communities, Inc. Matt was previously a Principal at Abbey Road Property Group and a Senior Vice President at Eakin Youngentob Associates. Matt has extensive experience in real estate development and investment, particularly in the DC area focusing on multifamily residential and mixed-use projects. Matt holds an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from Northwestern University and a BA in Urban Studies from Brown University.
