Matthew H. Birenbaum

Matthew H. Birenbaum is currently the Chief Investment Officer at AvalonBay Communities. Matthew has over 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to their current position, they served as the Senior Vice President at Eakin Youngentob Associates from April 2003 to April 2006, responsible for land acquisitions and entitlements efforts for builder/developer of infill for-sale residential communities. From January 1996 to March 2003, they were the Regional Vice President - Development at AvalonBay Communities.

Matthew H. Birenbaum has an MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in Real Estate and Finance and a BA in Urban Studies from Brown University.
