Marc Schneebaum

Marc Schneebaum currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Avalyn Pharma. Prior to this, they were the Director, Audit Committee Chair, and Compensation Committee at GenVec, Inc. from January 2007 to May 2017. GenVec, Inc. is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel, gene-based therapeutic drugs and vaccines. From January 1997 to December 2010, they served as the CEO, President, and Director at Sensors for Medicine and Science, Inc. (SMSI). SMSI is a venture capital-backed medical device technology company with a primary mission to develop a grain-of-rice-sized, long-term implantable glucose monitor for people with diabetes, a ~$10 billion global market. Marc led the company from its initial concept through early human clinical studies, overcoming a complex series of technical challenges. Marc raised capital, grew valuation, built the team, and negotiated business development deals. Marc leveraged the company’s technology expertise to create multiple product opportunities and developed an extensive IP portfolio. From December 2014 to July 2016, they served as Senior VP and CFO at Synta Pharmaceuticals.

Marc Schneebaum's educational career began with him earning a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) from the University of Maryland.

They are on a team with Nancy McKinley - SVP, Administration & Finance, Mark Surber - Founder & Chief Scientific Officer, and Stephen Pham - VP, Product Development. Marc Schneebaum reports to A. Bruce Montgomery, CEO.
