Omer Iqbal Khan is an Independent Director at Avanceon Middle East & South Asia. Omer has over 17 years of experience in the financial sector, including Trade Finance and Risk Distribution.

Khan began their career as a Senior Policy Analyst at HDC, where they prepared the 1999 Report on ‘Human Development in South Asia – Crisis of Governance’. Omer then joined AnZ Management Consulting as a consultant before moving to Citi in July 1999.

At Citi, Khan served as the Head of Trade Asset Distribution and Trade Finance for Middle East and North Africa. Omer was responsible for developing partnerships across financial institutions in the region for trade risk distribution business. Omer also structured large ticket trade transactions and customized financing solutions for Citi's clients. In addition, Khan launched the initiative for commodity trade finance business in the region.

Khan has a passion for developing and mentoring young talent. Omer has been a Director on the Board of several companies and is currently an Independent Director at Avanceon Middle East & South Asia.

Omer Iqbal Khan has a Master's Degree in Development Economics from the University of Oxford, a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and High School O' Levels and A' Levels from Aitchison College Lahore, Pakistan.
