Alex Fasell

Alex Fasell has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Alex began their career in 1990 as a Research Engineer at Ericsson, where they conducted radio access research for 2G and 3G cellular systems, as well as patent analysis and process development. In 1996, they were promoted to Senior Product Manager, where they were responsible for pre-commercial operation and testing of 3G, as well as patent analysis and portfolio advisory. Alex then served as Senior Specialist - CDMA Signal Processing, where they were involved in the standardization of wireless cellular systems in ETSI and 3GPP, RAN system design, and patent analysis. In 2003, Alex was promoted to Director Patent Licensing, and then again to Director, Patent Licensing. In 2014, they left Ericsson to become the Owner of VIP Licensing Ltd., a consulting firm specializing in matters relating to wireless standards-essential patents and FRAND licenses. Alex currently serves as the VP of Marketplace Operations at Avanci - Accelerating innovation for the Internet of Things.

Alex Fasell obtained an M Sc in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering from Linköping University between 1986 and 1990. Additionally, in February 2013, they received a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) from the University of Cambridge.
