John Cato

As Avanos Medical’s Vice President, Global Human Resources, John is responsible for developing and executing a global people strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives. In this capacity, he also advises on employee and culture matters, and develops talent strategies that enable Avanos to attract and retain a diverse and inclusive workforce.

John joined the company in 2014 and has over 25 years of experience in human resources, with more than 10 years in the medical device industry. He began his career with Hanger Orthopedics, an orthotic and prosthetic organization, and has also held human resources roles at General Electric, Johnson Controls and Cox Automotive. At Avanos, John has served in a number of HR leadership roles, including Senior Manager, Talent Management and HR PMO, and Director, Human Resources.

John graduated from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in human resources management.
